SHOW // Wheels Day 2016
Wow, it's been a LONG time since we last posted. Sometimes life gets in the way I guess, but we're determinedly fighting back against it and moving things along here at Tinspiration.
This week we're getting ourselves and our rides geared-up for what is probably our favourite show of the year – Surrey Street Rodder's Wheels Day. Having been for the last five years straight we're relative newcommers to the show that's now in it's 42nd year, with SSR doing an amazing job organising the show and proceeds going to charity.
Lots of shows are like this though right?
Well, what sets Wheels Day apart is the diversity of tin on show. SSR's broad minded approach to filling a field always results in a hugely eclectic cross section of cars, bikes, vans, trucks, busses etc. so if you're looking for inspiration it's there by the bucketload. This year we'll be heading down in a Beetle, a Volvo 144 and a Renault 5 Turbo.
This year has special significance for us as it falls on our old man's birthday. We lost him nearly two years ago now and this was his favourite show. If it hadn't been for our weekend trips to the workshop as kids, his stream of different cars, his expertise and resourcefulness and his straight talking we wouldn't be the petrolheads and spanner monkeys we are today.
